WSOP 2014 Main Event started

The WSOP 2014 Main Event started 5 days ago. First day was chopped into three heats. The total entries this year are 6,683 which is 331 more than year before.

The starting stack of 30,000 chips brings a total of 200,490,000 chips into the game. The prize pool of $62,820,200 will be distributed to the top 693 players.  The 683th will take $18,406 and the winner a whopping $10,000,000.

After Day 2 are 1864 players remaining. Many of the big poker players are already busted, such as Phil Helmuth, JC Tran, David Benyamine, Marcel Luske, Jennifer Harman, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Joe Hachem, Scott Nguyen Joe Cada, Jonathan Duhamel, Jamie Gold and Jerry Yang.

Remaining champions still in the game are last year winner Ryan Riess, Johnny Chan, Robert Varkonyi, Huck Seed and 2003 Champion Chris Moneymaker.

In the coming days, the decisions of the players will be harder because of the big pressure, first to be in the money (place 693 and up), then the final table or even  to win the whole tournament.

I hope for more interesting news and maybe some surprising moves of one or more of the remaining players. Good luck to all!
