ONE TIME

This is one of the expressions you hear on the tables especially if you are watching the videos from WSOP Main Event. What does it mean and why do the players use it? I think they pray to a poker god. One time let me please win this hand, please let me win one time against a better start hand, one time I need a little bit more luck to win my hand, one time let me beat all others. But the question is, where is this poker god, who is it and how can he make it come true? Maybe it is not a poker god; maybe it’s only a personal poker angel, who is guarding over you…

Last time playing online poker, I was asked by a player how he can use the “one time” option. The answer was that he can write it into the chat. The nest question was where is the button for one time? You still don’t understand? The player explained it and said he is searching for this button because he thought he would receive a JOKER to win this hand. So One Time can be also misunderstood.

Dear players, there are no JOKER cards used in a texas hold’em poker game and you cannot use it!

How often have you already used your One Time? Certainly not only one time… If it does mean one time; why are we not using these two words only one time? How many times can we use it? Can we use it one time at the table, one time in the tournament or one time in our life? And does it help? Not necessarily and not every time! I think it is a superstition like Friday the 13^th or black cats or going under a ladder. So are you superstitious?
