HEADS UP

Heads up is a form of poker that is played between only two players. This situation can arise or result on three different ways in a poker game:
  1. Through a betting round at a poker table, where all other players fold and only two remain playing the hand
  2. In a tournament, after all other players have been eliminated
  3. A special Heads Up Championship
The way to play Heads Up is totally different. The reason for this is the change in probabilities and pot odds.

For example at a table with 10 players the probability that somebody holds a bigger pocket pair than your KK pre flop is 0,0439 (1:23), whereas against only 1 player in heads up it is 0,0049 (1:204). Don’t forget, this heads up probability doesn’t apply to the 1st point of the Heads Up situations above!

You’ll find that good players use these odds to play more aggressively forcing their opponents to fold marginal hands.

But think about this: “Any two cards can win!” and the winning probability of the worst starting hand, 7 2  off suit is still 12% against pocket aces and even 32,5% against A K off suit before the flop*. Surprising, isn’t it?

WSOP 2015 SCHEDULE AND THE ONLINE BRACELET

The 46th Annual WSOP schedule has been released. This year there are 68 events planned from May 27th to July 14th. The whole time schedule can be found here.

The big surprise and a first in the history of WSOP is the event #64, the online Bracelet tournament with $1,000 Buy-In No Limit Texas Holdem. It will start on July 2nd at the WSOP.com the online real money poker home of WSOP. The final two players will complete the game in live heads up at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on July 3.

There are many questions about this unique tournament. The discussion on different online websites is about the online as well as the live component of the heads up.

How secure is the online game against collusion, live coaching or even illegal account sharing?

The live component must be a part of the online bracelet tournament because of the real concept of WSOP. Every bracelet has to be won live. Is it then a real online bracelet tournament? How about the players outside from Nevada?

See all about this event here.
